Why Linux® instead of Windows®?
“An update for the Windows recovery environment has often failed for some time with the code 0x80070643.”
What does the error code 0x80070643 tell you? Nothing, absolutely nothing???
Well, nothing to me either.
With Linux® you get error messages for humans and with Microsoft® error codes for …?
Well, we’re not programmers and we don’t have to fix the update ourselves. So we wait until Microsoft® creates the update for it. With Linux®, you would report the error message to the distributions and the programmers would take a look at the problem. If the error also exists on their own computers, then the error can be investigated further. If the programmers cannot reproduce the error on their own computers, they are dependent on the help of the users. The output of some commands is required and that is basically it. If the programmers understand why the error occurs, then the update is half done. The rest is to create and test the update. If the update fixes the error reliably and no new errors occur, then it is of course published and distributed. That’s how it works in OpenSource.
It is mentioned on the Heise.de page that there are workarounds and you can read about them in c’t magazine. But sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. And here I give the advice to try Linux® out. It costs nothing to try it out. No money, just your time. While you’re waiting for the update, you could think outside the box, right 😁?
